When the partners of a newly established tyre shredding business, wanted advice on what equipment they needed to shred car and light commercial vehicle tyres, they turned to Brian Hattam, Managing Director of Advanced Recyling Solutions.

This company has several customised vehicles, making regular visits to garages and specialist tyre replacement centres throughout Devon and Cornwall to collect worn tyres. Back at the plant, they are fed in to the shredder at the rate of some three tons per hour, and shredded into three sizes of chip, to suit the different markets the company supplies.

Three screens pass out chips of different sizes, and because of the potential for new sales into new markets, the screens are easily removable and may be easily replaced with new screens dealing with different sized rubber chips.
